Postoperative monitoring of the perfusion of a free flap used in head and neck reconstruction is vitally important in achieving a favorable outcome. There are a wide range of methods that have been advocated to assist in this surveillance. However, at this time, there is no one technique that is universally efficacious in detecting early arterial and venous occlusion. In our experience, the most reliable means of monitoring has been the clinical assessment of flap color, capillary refill, tissue turgor, and bleeding. To assess these parameters, a portion of the flap must be accessible for observation. When the defect is buried, as is often the case in head and neck reconstruction, flap design is critical to achieve a reliable external segment for monitoring. The methods for exteriorizing a well-vascularized portion of tissue in the most commonly used flaps are described.

When it comes to favorites with tattoos the Japanese Koi fish tattoo design is a leader. both in beauty and popularity. This design represents Zen and symbolizes ‘Good Luck’. The Japanese draw a parallel between the Koi fish and a Samurai Warrior as they both represent courage, the ability to attain high goals and to overcome life’s difficulties. Before rushing off and getting a Japanese Koi fish tattoo you need to consider many factors including the tattoo color, its location on your body and of course any complimentary inclusions.

What Color Should You Choose?

When you finally visit the tattoo parlor for your Koi fish tattoo you need to have a clear opinion of the color scheme you want the tattoo drawn in. A very popular color scheme is the time-honored Yen Yang design of black and white. For many of this classical arrangement is a little too conservative and tame and they prefer to choose another more vivid arrangement. For example if you have a dark or olive skin color it may be more appropriate to select a bright hue so the Koi fish tattoo is more noticeable. If you are wanting to go the more traditional style, you may want to choose one of the Koi’s natural colors such as white, red, black, yellow or gold, or perhaps a mixture of those colors.

Ideally it is best to choose a color design that compliments your skin tone. As a suggestion, if you have yellowish tone in your skin it might be more appropriate to have a gold or yellow and red tattoo. If you have pink to your skin, black, white, red, or blue may be the best color selection for your Japanese Koi fish tattoo design.

Tattoo Positioning

Have you any idea where you intend to position your tattoo? It is recommended that you make sure that your Koi fish tattoo has a place of honor on your body. You must also ensure it is in a place on your body that you can live with. For example, if your work place is of a conservative nature which frowns on employees having ‘out there’ body art or has a strict dress code you may not want your tattoo on your hand, face, neck or lower arm where the tattoo is readily visible and almost impossible to camouflage with clothing.

On the other hand, if you are free to show off your lucky Japanese Koi fish tattoo design, consider placing it on the small of your back, your forearms, around the side of your neck or even swimming around your ankle, as is one of the preferred places for female wearers of the Japanese Koi fish tattoo.

Koi Tattoo Environments

Once you have decided what your tattoo is going to look like and where it is going to be put, you need to give consideration to what other features you would like to include with the design. A popular and effective addition to the Koi design is a flowing stream, a calm pool or even rocky rapids. Combine your Japanese Koi fish tattoo design with a few unique inclusions such as your favorite Japanese symbol and it will result in a tattoo of high quality that can be cherished throughout the years by both the wearer and the admirers.

Tattooing has been existing for a long time and this long time means only thousands of years. It is the art which is used to modify body and add beauty to the natural look by enhancing physical looks.

There has been tattoo designs gained popularity for short time and there have been designs and styles which are meant to stay forever in human bodies. Let’s take a look at some latest and traditional body piercing or painting art approaches which have been loved and hailed by people at this time.

Celtic Tattoo: This design is having the taste of growing popularity. Day by day people are getting more interested in Celtic taste in the section of tattooing. It is said to have universal appeal and many tattoo lovers have shown overwhelming passion for this kind. The signs and symbols of this design is often mixed with tribal types of tattoos to create a brand new style.

Dragon Tattoo: Before we get to tattooing of dragon we need to learn a little lesson on the myth of this creature. Centuries ago Asians, to be more specific Chinese used to believe dragons are warriors for goodness. Meanwhile, Europeans had a different view about it and thought it as evil. No matter what the believe was both sides considered it as an awesomely powerful force. That was the base of dragon tattoos those days and funny, it is still the inspiration for many people who has dragon tattooed in their body. There are types of dragons which represents deep meaning like even having control over natural elements.

Rose Tattoo: Just like the flower rose tattoos display a different type of passion, emotion, view and most of all beauty. It is yet another form of tattoo which has survived the consequences of ever changing nature of human taste. Roses painted in the body have different colors. Each symbolizes something according to the color. While red rose announces blooming love white rose is the symbol of innocence and purity of the heart and soul.

Each type of tattoo represents something, so it is important you have your type of tattoo in your body.

In 1973, at age 18, Bob Taylor began working at American Dream, a small guitar-making shop owned by Sam Radding, quietly announced that it would introduce a completely new and unprecedented neck design on its high-end acoustic guitars, more than a few purists said to themselves, “Why would these guys mess with mess with

Now that Taylor’s New Technology, or NT, neck has been out in the market for the better part of a year, the purists’ concerns have been put to rest and the verdict is in: Players like it, even if they don’t fully understand it. Challenging industry orthodoxy or·tho·dox·y
a. takes a good deal of courage. Doing it successfully takes even more skill. In developing the NT neck design Bob Taylor displayed ample amounts of both qualities, and for this reason we select the NT neck as the product of the year.

There’s something a bit ironic about honoring a new product that is likely to pass unnoticed by most players. This is not to say that the NT neck doesn’t deliver significant benefits. Guitarists obviously like the idea that changes in temperature and humidity won’t cause the neck on their Taylor guitar to warp warp: see weaving.

Warp – OS/2 or twist. Dealers like the idea that it now takes less service to keep Taylor guitars in peak playing condition, but unless they actually take the neck off, they may never be aware of just why their new guitar is so stable. But then, the hallmark of great designs is transparent simplicity … efficiently accomplishing the task at hand without great fanfare.

While the NT design is simplicity itself, implementation was a complex challenge that required reworking just about every phase of the production process, from shaping component parts to final assembly. Making the neck fit properly into the pocket of the body required using computer-controlled machinery to shape neck parts to exacting tolerances of 2/1000ths of an inch. Increased accuracy in neck components immediately magnified any variations in the body, such as tops that popped up less than 10/1000ths of an inch. Thus, similar improvements were required in the production of the back, sides, and top of the guitar.

We would describe the NT as an inspired solution to an age-old problem. Harnessing advanced computer-controlled manufacturing machinery, Bob Taylor was able to devise a way to make a more stable neck without upsetting guitarist’s traditional sensibilities.

Where will you place your next tattoo?

Hi there!

Deciding on a location for your tattoo can be as difficult as choosing a design for your tattoo…

One important decision to make is whether you want your tattoo to be visible to the world or in a more intimate
location where only you and your beloved will see the tattoo?

The largest organ of the body is the skin so there are certainly a lot of options when deciding where to place your
tattoo.

Although tattoos can go just about anywhere, some popular tattoo locations include the bicep, the calf, the ankle, the
back, the hip and even the neck and the chest.

For girls some of the most popular tattoo locations include the calf, the hip and the lower back. Most girls opt for
smaller tattoos in these locations and in the case of the lower back and the hip the tattoo is not always fully visible.

Guys are more visible by nature so it comes as no surprise that they typically have tattoos in locations that are more
visible to other people, like the bicep, shoulder or neck.
